Senior Project Manager | Mechanical Construction Projects Sydney Based Role Senior Project Delivery Position Mechanical Services, HVAC, Building Services & Technical Construction Backgrounds Encouraged About HRG is partnering with a global leader in critical infrastructure solutions to appoint a Senior Project Manager for a growing Sydney based delivery team. This is a strong opportunity for a proven Project Manager who has come through the mechanical engineering, mechanical services, HVAC, building services or construction project environment and is ready to step into a highly visible role delivering complex technical projects. We are particularly interested in speaking with Project Managers who understand construction sites, services coordination, mechanical packages, project sequencing, contractors, customers and the pressure that comes with delivering technically detailed work safely, commercially and on time. This is not a back office project role. You will be client facing, commercially involved and responsible for driving outcomes across multiple stakeholders. The Opportunity You will take ownership of complex project delivery from post order stage through to completion. You will work closely with sales, engineering, product, supply chain, contractors, builders, consultants and customer representatives to keep projects moving and ensure expectations are managed properly. You will be involved in planning, documentation, delivery sequencing, commercial forecasting, progress claims, site coordination, risk management, quality requirements and customer communication. The environment is fast paced, but well suited to someone who enjoys being close to the work, close to the customer and genuinely accountable for delivery. What You Will Be Doing Managing technical construction projects from planning through to delivery and handover Coordinating mechanical, electrical and infrastructure related project packages Working with engineering and commercial teams to finalise project requirements Preparing and maintaining project plans, schedules, milestones and documentation Managing contractors, consultants, builders, project managers and customer stakeholders Attending project meetings and representing the business professionally Coordinating logistics, site delivery, installation sequencing and customer requirements Managing project risk, progress claims, forecasting, variations and delivery milestones Keeping internal teams and external customers aligned through clear communication Supporting quality, safety and procedural compliance across all project activity Mentoring or supporting less experienced project team members where required What We Are Looking For We are looking for a strong Project Manager with a mechanical construction background. You may have worked for a major mechanical contractor, HVAC business, tier one builder, building services contractor, data centre contractor, industrial project business or technical construction company. Relevant backgrounds may include: Mechanical services project management HVAC project delivery Building services construction Data centre construction Industrial mechanical projects Chillers, AHUs, CRAC or CRAH systems Services management with a tier one builder Switch rooms, plant rooms, power infrastructure or critical services environments Complex construction projects involving multiple subcontractors and customers What Will Make You Successful This role will suit someone who can stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly and take ownership when projects become challenging. The right person will be able to manage customers, push internal teams when required, work through conflict professionally and keep projects moving without creating unnecessary noise. Formal project management qualifications are welcome, but they are not the main priority. Proven construction project delivery experience is more important.
